Traditional rope binding is an option on Burgin weissenborn
style guitars. This binding was common on European instruments in the 19th
century and featured on many early acoustic lap steel instruments in the early
1900s. My rope binding is made from diagonally cut pieces of jarrah and maple
and is glued to the front and back edges, the peghead and fretboard edges.
It also features in the soundhole rosette.
Price of rope bound weissenborn style guitar with hard case US $2650 (convert
